Sunderland’s Geejay unleashes his debut album on NGU Records in May and thanks to those kind folk at Park Street PR we managed to get an upfront promo copy to review. Fifteen tracks deep this album features some really cool club bangers such as ‘Next Lev’s, ‘This Is my Club Song’ and ‘Throw Ya Grind Up’. Make sure you check for the superb ‘Impossible’ track which features OYM Records artist Kid Rad. The way they chop up the theme music to ‘Mission Impossible’ is real clever and gives the track great cross-over potential. Other cuts worth mentioning is ‘We Came To Represent’ featuring Raekwon from Wu-Tang Clan on the hook, ‘How Many MC's’ featuring New York legend Canibus & NGU Records boss Dap-C, as well as the excellent Kroscene produced track ‘Just Straight Spittin’. On the whole the album is really tight, my only gripe is that some of the UK Rap community might not like the accent, if ya get over that fact you’ll hear an MC with skills and a nice flow. This album is really well produced and has lots of different styles and textures, so please take time out to check it out.
