You always know your going to get a certain quality with Scarface. In my opinion he is one of the greatest to ever bless a mic. His whole vibe and style just impresses me and with most rappers from Houston they seem to mature well like a good bottle of wine. This man has been putting out music now for THREE decades and ‘Made’ is another album to add to his long list of classics. Kicking off with ‘Never’ you soon here bars of truth as he spits about the code of the streets. With bars such as ‘I will never shed tears my heart is like a stone now/I never thought I’d get too see 21, look I’m grown now’ you know your in safe hands. Next up is the T.I, Lil Wayne & U.T.P collaboration ‘Big Dogg Status’ followed by the superb ‘Girl You Know’. The next track ‘Burn’ is one of my personal favourites on the album with a real deep feel on the bass and Z-Ro absolutely murdering the hook. Geto Boys fans will love the vibe on ‘Who Do You Believe In?’ and ‘Suicide Note’. This album sets the yardstick for Gangsta Rap. The concepts, the flows, the lyrics, the delivery, the music, the production, the mixdown; it all really is 10/10 in all corners. There’s a lot of MC’s from the golden age of rap that have dropped off. Scarface isn’t one of them. This is a true classic album. Amazingly brilliant.
