Without a shadow of a doubt Trae is one of my favourite emcees from Houston and it’s been real good to see his come-up over the last few years. From his solo debut ‘Losing Composure’ in 2003 he has really stamped out his mark as one of The South’s best and most consistent artists. ‘Life Goes On’ is probably his best work to date and with a total of twenty tracks this is a ‘must-buy’ CD. Kicking off with the excellent banging synth-bassline monster ‘Throw Away’ featuring Yung Joc and Gorilla Zoe, this album sets a high standard from the off. Other guests include the Tupac, Lil Wayne, Slim Thug, Jadakiss, Styles P, Rich Boy and Jody Breeze amongst others. Standout solo tracks include the super-soulful ‘Gittin High’ and the harder-hitting ‘Gangsta Gangsta’. This album has everything you’d expect from Trae and a little extra… people in Europe really need to get up on Trae. If for some strange reason you are not checking out his music you need to start NOW! H-Town stand up.
