When did you release your first song? I released my first song when I was 13. It was called “Tricks are for Kids.” It was really the first song I ever did.
What’s been your biggest track so far to date? Well I had this Just Blaze beat. It was actually the titled song to Jay-Z’s album “Kingdom Come.” I did a song called “Superfreakin It” that caught a lot of attention. I had the beat before Jay and I took it and put it out with out Just permission. I cant speak on where I got the beat from but when I put it out it did stir up a lot of talk.
Who produces your music?
Well I work with a lot of producers. Nottz, Rockwilder, and a lot of upcoming guys. I work with my in house producers Rik Marvel, Capp and Kidd, and D- Trakz.
What record label are you on?
Right now im signed to myself. First In Flight Ent. I was tired of waiting for a deal and talking to A&R’s that have no idea what hot music sounds like. I just started my own movement. I have my own artist and I have my own team. Everything is independent.
Have you released any music videos?
If you go to youtube.com you can see all of my videos. I have 3 videos up there now. Birth of a Legend, Haunted House, and Valentines. Just type in Rain and on of those titles and you can see the videos that we did. Each video is directed by Money Mark.
What has the response been like to your music in your hometown?
My hometown loves me. They’re waiting on someone to dig us out of the hole. There is anybody from North Carolina out. Hopefully I can be one of the first to put us where we need to be.
Being independent can be a grind! How are you finding it?
It’s hard but I believe anything that comes easy will leave quickly. That’s why I don’t mind grinding for it. I want this to last so I’m willing to give it my all.
What are your thoughts on digital distribution?
I think its great. Email blast makes it easy for people to hear about you without leaving their house.
Do you have an agent for bookings/tours?
Yes you can call the First in Flight office at 213-785-1395.
Have you had much DJ support? Radio play? Mixtape features?
Well I been dealing with a lot of mixtape djs and radion djs. Mostly all of the underdogs. The major djs didn’t really bite yet but its cool. I like the fact that the new guys are grinding with me. Its important, and It means a lot.
What subject matters do you cover in your lyrics?
I cover real life matters. Whether it’s about everyday struggle, problems you have with your girl, or just having fun, I always make sure real people can relate to it. I don’t exaggerate. I keep it as real as possible. I believe that’s why my fans fuck with me. I always tell the truth and I say it to the point its relatable but at the same time entertaining.
Tell us a bit about your style.
In order for me to tell you my style I would have to tell you my life. My life is me doing whatever to make the day go by faster. Chillin with the baddest bitches, hitting the night spots, whyling out with my niggas, and trying to keep our mind off the bullshit. That’s my life so that’s what I talk about. I say it slick because im a slick dude. I talk cocky because I feel like im the best at what I do. My style is fresh.
Outside of music how do relax?
I just kick it with my dudes and think of new ways to get money. I might throw a bottle of Hennessey back with a bad chick but even when I’m doing that I’m never outside the music. It’s all hip hop. Ladies love thugs and the thugs love hip hop.
What can people expect from you in the near future?
Consistency. A lot of hot music. A lot of entertainment and real clear view of my life. Im putting it all on the line for your entertainment.
Do you have a website or My Space page?
