Where are you from?
Eastside of the A, that’s Atlanta, Georgia.
How did you get into the music industry?
I was making beats, then I started rapping and grinded it out. I made most if not all of my connects through being out on the grind promoting myself on the streets from Georgia, Florida, and Louisiana.
When did you start producing?
Seriously around 4-5 years ago.
What equipment do you use?
I have a top of the line laptop setup that I prefer to use especially when on the road. You can find me on the keyboard too.
What 3 tips would you give to an up and coming producer?
The industry is 90% grind. If you are not ready to work don’t even start. It’s not all fun and flash, I work everyday from morning to morning and sleep little.
Who have you produced for?
Everybody in the Too hot family, underground artists all over the south, midwest, and west coast and with this interview hopefully the UK real soon.
What label are you on?
Too Hot Records
Who owns/runs it?
I do, I love this independent money!
Any other acts on the label?
I have artists Yung Trell (YT), Lil Kraizee, Mr. Black aka Nightmare, and Mr. Mally Maal aka Lil Maal, and west coast problem child Skrill Gatez tha dangla.
How did you get the name Rich Boi?
People kept saying I was Rich because I was never broke because I have been on my hustle for a while. So one day some folks called me a Rich Boi and it has stuck with me from there.
So what do you hope to achieve by this time next year?
Independently my goal is to sell over 100,000 copies of my album. I want Toohotradio.com to be on satellite radio with over 2 million listeners. I also want to be doing designs for as many artists that I can because I have a 48-72 hr. turnover on most graphic jobs and do top notch work check me out at toohotdesign.com
Any shout-outs?
I want to send a shout out to the Eastside of the A, matter of fact all of Atlanta, the whole dirty south for opening the door, the UK for showing ya boi love, and to the whole international audience showing TooHotRadio.com love. Also shout outs to Tricksta for all his support, Kellen Kash, Lil Scrappy, Bishop Don Magic Juan and everybody else who supports what we are doing for hip hop.
Do you have a My Space Page?
