 When did you start rapping and what influenced you to pick up the mic?
I started rapping at about 14/15. And the love of hip hop influenced me to pick up the mic: and it was just putting words together back then.
Did you get into hip-hop as a kid? If so, what acts did you check for.
I always loved hip hop!! As a youth, adolescent, and adult. The acts that I checked for were LL Cool J, Gang Starr, Public Enemy, KRS 1, and that was about it for acts I checked for. I used to break dance as a child, I just loved hip hop!
How did you get your deal with Hellaware and how is all that going?
There is no deal with Hellaware! And as far as How is that going...I do ME! I am an unsigned artist. I do my own thing. Them cats are just people I put on my mixtape to promote. I have done work with them in the past, and that is where that will stay! In the past!
Your mixtape features some banging tracks as well as big features. How long did it take to record?
Tracks are definitely sick. All my features are original tracks, from a cat named Mystro. My features, were things I had to do because of my incarceration for so long. I had to force-feed people to listen. No one had heard of me yet. LOL: besides prison. Lets just say...I was a little behind on fans, so I wanted to take some of there's. It took me about six months to record.
What was the highlight of recording?
Actually doing it. Going here and there recording with big artists, seeing they operate and their work ethics. Watching my thoughts become songs!
There's a lot of Dipset on your mixtape, tell us about your relationship with the Dip's.
We have mutual friends: We have done a lot of work together.
In your rhymes you talk of hard times and even your life in prison. Do you think going through hard times has made you stronger in your music?
Definitely...It has actually done a whole lot more than that. I have grown up through hard shit...Became a Man. So yeah, it has made me stronger
in my music.
If you had to compare your music to another artist who would it be?
Eminem, because he is real. He don't care what anyone else thinks. And Nas, because he went from street to knowledge, which is what I plan to do.
The mixtape is destined to do big things, but what would like to achieve from this release?
People to KNOW WHO I AM. Recognize my talent and understand that I don't do this for any other reason, but that it is in my heart.
Have you any plans for 2007 music-wise?
Of course I do! This is just the beginning. Literally. That is all I have to say about that.
Have you done many live shows?
Yes....the dvd is coming soon.
